How was I to know?

Hmmm, this is too much of a coincidence... I bought a 500gb Time Capsule in december 2007 (6th to be exact) and on the evening of the 6 January 2010. I came home from work to find it DEAD!

i dont know if i should buy another airport extreme and just use a usb hdd for my iMac (i dont bother backing up my MBP) or spend my hard-earned euro's on another godforsaken Time Capsule.

Shouldn' a back-up device outlast the device it backs up from? This has gone beyond a coincidence now, me thinks. Dodgy batch? AppleCare revenge?
